Reed Exhibitions acquires Business Continuity Expo and Technology for Compliance Expo.
Reed Exhibitions and IMP Events in a joint statement today have announced an agreement that will see Reed Exhibitions take full ownership of both the Business Continuity Expo and Technology for Compliance Expo with immediate effect on Thursday 17th November 2005.
Business Continuity and Technology for Compliance, under the management expertise of IMP Events, are firmly established as the leading UK Exhibitions and Conference focusing on the business and technology issues for risk, continuity and contingency planning. The shows have delivered 3 years of significant growth and the sector is predicted to continue to grow over forthcoming years. Reed Exhibitions, as the world's largest exhibition organiser with unrivalled access to relevant visitor databases and unparalleled exhibition experience, is ideally positioned to ensure both exhibitions grow and develop with the industry.
The events will benefit immediately from access to Reed's complementary visitor databases of senior decision makers across 18 industry sectors ranging from Defence to Retail. Key exhibitions and media include Infosecurity Europe, Storage Expo, Documation UK and the UK's leading business IT magazine, Computer Weekly.
To ensure stability in exhibitor and supplier relationships, IMP Events will retain full management responsibility and control over the delivery of the 2006 events and will remain involved in a consultative capacity for the 2007 events. Reed Exhibitions will work closely with IMP Events during the forthcoming months, meeting with customers and suppliers, and ensuring a smooth transition in to the Reed portfolio. Amanda Strange from Reed Exhibitions will join the IMP Events team during the 2006 show cycle and will take over as Exhibition Director to deliver the 2007 events going forward.
Graeme Howe, Director of IMP Events Ltd, says "To have access to Reed's databases will take these events to new levels of visitor delivery, and their international coverage will help exhibitors reach other markets. This is a significant sector with much opportunity for growth and it is clear that Reed will be able to deliver this for our customers going forward "
Amanda Strange, Exhibition Director from Reed Exhibitions comments "Both events will benefit from Reed's expertise in the security, data storage and information management marketplaces, as well as capitalising on our extensive reach to senior business audiences working across broader industries. Importantly, this provides Reed with the opportunity to expand our offerings to both existing and new customers in a market that is highly complementary to our existing portfolio. The scope for growth in this market is clear and Reed is in the strongest position to deliver this for visitors and exhibitors alike. The intention is to build on the strong platform that has been created by IMP Events and take these events to new heights and new international markets. On a personal note, I am delighted to be involved in such a dynamic business and am looking forward to working closely with the existing management team and all stakeholders in the shows."
